Terms of Service

By creating an account, accessing, or using Edorent's website, mobile application, or any related services (collectively, the "Platform"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform. These terms apply to all users, including landlords, tenants, guarantors, and administrators.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

To use Edorent, you must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts under applicable Nigerian law. By registering, you represent and warrant that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and current.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at support@edorent.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Edorent provides a technology platform that connects landlords and property owners with prospective tenants and buyers. We facilitate the listing, discovery, application, and management of residential and commercial properties.

You agree NOT to:

• cancel Post false, misleading, or fraudulent property listings.
• cancel Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Nigerian law.
• cancel Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the security features of the Platform.
• cancel Collect or harvest personal data of other users without their consent.
• cancel Impersonate any person, entity, or Edorent staff member.
• cancel Use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to access or extract Platform data.
• cancel Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits any other user from using the Platform.
• cancel Upload or transmit any viruses, malware, or malicious code.

Landlords and property owners are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of their property listings. Edorent does not verify the legal ownership of listed properties but reserves the right to request documentation at any time.

All listings are subject to review and approval by the Edorent administrative team before being published on the Platform. We reserve the right to reject, remove, or suspend any listing that violates these terms or our community guidelines.

Tenants applying for properties must provide accurate personal information, valid identification documents, and designate two guarantors as required. All submitted documents are subject to verification by the Edorent team.

Submission of a rental or purchase application does not guarantee approval or availability of a property. Edorent facilitates the application process but does not make final tenancy decisions on behalf of landlords.

Guarantors who receive invitations to provide their information agree to be bound by these terms to the extent applicable to their participation.

Edorent charges a service fee of 9% of the agreed rent or purchase amount as a Verification, Facilitation & Legal Fee. This fee is payable by the applicant prior to the execution of any tenancy agreement or property transfer.

All payments made through the Platform must be accompanied by valid proof of payment. Payments are verified within a reasonable time after submission. Edorent is not responsible for delays caused by banking institutions.

All users of the Platform are expected to engage honestly, respectfully, and in good faith. Any form of harassment, discrimination, or abuse towards other users, Edorent staff, or third parties will result in immediate account suspension.

Users are responsible for ensuring that any transactions, agreements, or communications conducted through or outside the Platform comply with all applicable Nigerian laws, including property, tenancy, and consumer protection laws.

All content on the Platform — including but not limited to logos, trademarks, design elements, software, and written content — is the exclusive property of Edorent Technologies Ltd and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any Edorent content without our express written permission. Unauthorized use may result in legal action.

Edorent acts as a technology intermediary and does not own, operate, manage, or guarantee any listed property. We are not party to any tenancy or sale agreement between landlords and tenants.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Edorent shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to property disputes, financial losses, or inaccurate listings.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Edorent in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Edorent reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to other users or the Platform.

You may close your account at any time by contacting our support team. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect.

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Edo State, Nigeria.

We encourage users to first attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting our support team. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes may be submitted to mediation before litigation.
